Here on my blog, I try to share simple, everyday tips and tricks that can help make your life a little easier. But sometimes, the tips I want to share aren’t the ones I could write a whole blog post about! And because I just can’t screw up a good idea, I put it away to use at a later date. Today I’ll be sharing some of those tips and tricks with you in the fourteenth edition of my ongoing series “Why Didn’t I Think of That?”

1. Tap your dustpan
Use a piece of painters tape To remove that frustrating line of dirt that is often left behind after cleaning. Tap the front edge of your dustpan floor Using a piece of painters tape. The tape will bridge the gap between the dustpan and the floor, making it easier to clean every last bit of dust.
2. Revamp your trash can
You can use your power drill to make it easier to insert a new trash can into your trash can. Just drill a few holes in your trash can, about halfway up the floor. When you put a new trash bag in the bin, these air holes will allow air to escape to prevent bubbles.
3. Dust with a paint roller
Using a paint roller can make dusting easier hard to reach Places Just wrap a microfiber cloth around the roller and secure it in place rubber band. Then you’ll be ready to dust the ceiling fan, light fixturesDoor frames and more!
4. Clean the cracks of the car
Some double-sided tape and a ruler can help you Clean deep cracks in your car. Just wrap a length of double-sided tape around the ruler, then stick the ruler into the hard-to-clean nooks and crannies of your car. Dust, crumbs and debris will stick to the tape, and your car will be cleaner for it!
5. Find the bits of glass
when you are Cleaning up broken glassYou can use a flashlight to make sure you get every last bit of it. Just turn off the room lights and shine a flashlight around where the glass broke. Any bits of glass you may have missed will reflect the light and be much easier to find!
6. Toilet paper air freshener
use essential oil To turn your roll Toilet paper In the bathroom air freshener! Just add a few drops of your favorite essential oil Inside a toilet paper roll. Every time the roll moves around your toilet paper holder, it will reactivate the scent of the oil and Freshen the air.
7. Tap Edge Trick
Sick of losing the edge of your tape? Just fold the edge of the tape under itself! This little tab will make it easier to find the edge of the tape when you need it and can be a real time saver!

8. Long-lasting lipstick
Desire your lip color Lasts for a long time? Take some translucent setting powder and a tissue. Hold the tissue over your lips, then apply setting powder to your lips on the tissue. This will help set your lipstick without building up your lips Look powdery or dry.
9. Smoothen the sliced onions
Thinly sliced onions are great on burgers, salads, and sandwiches, but can be time-consuming to chop by hand. Instead of using a knife, you can do it faster with a potato peeler! The slices come out extra-thin, and require much less time and effort.
10. Mason Jar Dish Scrubber
A small turn Mason Jar In a soap-dispensing dish scrubber! You will need a small jar, a mason jar lid that already has a hole in it (ie This one), a sponge and a hot glue gun.
Cut the sponge so it’s the same size and shape as your jar lid, then use hot glue to glue the edges of the sponge to the top of the lid. Fill your jar with Dish soapPlace the prepared sponge lid on top, and it’s ready to use!
11. Filter grip tab
Depending on the layout of your HVAC system, it may be difficult to grab the old filter for removal. So before you slide in a new filter, use some Tape to place painters A simple “grip tab” on one corner of the filter. When you go to remove the filter from the road, the tap tab will make it easier to grab!
