It’s Wednesday, and that means it’s time for another round of my favorite things! 9. Culinary Corner: Strawberry Buttermilk Cake: Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly spray a 9- or 10-inch springform pan. Stir in 1½ cups flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, and ¼ teaspoon salt. Cream ½ cup butter and 1 cup sugar for 3 to 4 minutes. Beat in 3 large eggs, then 1½ teaspoons vanilla. Mix ¼ cup sour cream with ¼ cup buttermilk. Add the flour mixture alternately with the sour cream mixture, beginning and ending with the flour. Fold in 14 ounces of sliced fresh strawberries. Spread in pan, sprinkle with extra sugar and bake until golden and set, 40 to 45 minutes.
