Also, our step-by-step guide will have you through the textured rows in no time. Plus, once you get the hang of the pattern, it’s a simple 4-row repeat from start to finish. Finally, the border of this easy crochet baby blanket is made with the same 4 ribbed rows.

If you want to make a sample before you start the project, it’s always a good idea. Start with any one EVEN number of chains plus 1for example, 20 CH +1.
For the whole blanket, CH 134 + 1. It is easier to create a CH base if you mark with a stitch marker every 20th (or 10th) row. So if you accidentally lose your number, you can easily recover it.
Row 1
SC in 2nd CH from hook and each CH to end of row (134 SC stitches), CH1, turn.
Row 2-4
SC in BLO to end of row (134 SC stitches).
As a result, we knitted 4 ribbed rows. Next we will crochet 4 textured rows. You will also alternate this combination of 8 rows until you complete the quilt with 4 ribbed rows.

Lines 5-8
CH1, turn. SC in 1st ST. Then insert your hook through the BL of the next ST, YO. Pull your hook through the FL of the next stitch, YO. You have 3 loops on the hook. YO and pull through all 3 loops on the hook. Finally, insert your hook into last post from the loop you just made, SC.* Repeat to the end of the row, SC over the last ST.
Lines 9-12
Repeat row 2.
Continue alternating these rows until you have 15 textured stripes (or your the blanket is the desired size). Then finish with 4 rib rows.
Finishing boundary
Since we already have a ribbed border at the beginning and end of the blanket, we only need to knit the border on 2 sides. So, to finish, crochet 4 rows of SC BLO on both sides.

A crochet blanket border is like the frame of a beautiful painting – it enhances and completes the overall design. In the case of this easy crochet baby blanket, the four ribbed rows add structure and contrast that elevate the blanket from ordinary to a finished, handmade masterpiece.
