Wire shelves left half the pantry empty
Two rows of white wire wrapped around three walls while nearly the entire bottom half of the room remained unused. Boxes of cereal, snacks, peanut butter, canned goods and paper products took over the upper shelves, forcing everything into narrow storage bands.
Floor space remained empty as no cabinets or countertops existed beneath the shelves. Floor vent placement is also limited where future cabinetry can expand, making layout planning part of the remodel from scratch.
Cabinet boxes began to define the workspace
Base cabinet boxes replaced the empty floor space below the original wire shelves. Optionally, drawer openings with large cabinet sections create a separate storage zone before doors or drawers are installed.
The existing shelves remained in place while construction was underway, allowing pantry storage to remain operational during the project. The depth of the cabinet leaves enough room to walk in the middle of the room.
Butcher Block introduced a full-length countertop
