The Bravia 8 II is the 2025 OLED and successor to the Bravia 8. It has some impressive specs: 8 million self-lit pixels, a quantum dot panel, XR Triluminos Max for enhanced colors and brightness, and an AI-powered XR processor that enhances images in real time. It comes with Google TV built-in—my personal favorite TV operating system, because it allows you to cast your smartphone to the TV and get hands-free Google Assistant, so you can tell your TV what shows to play on Netflix without picking up the remote. You also get support for AirPlay.
OLED is the best technology you can get right now in terms of picture quality, although it also comes with some downsides. Make sure you understand how OLED is different from QLED. Brightness only gets up to 991 nits, which is lower than other premium OLEDs, but PCMag’s “Excellent” review Explained, it can reach a high peak brightness of 1,567 nits, and it doesn’t look remotely dim in use.
