What’s your favorite place to go when you need a reset or creative inspiration?
‘When looking for creative inspiration, there’s nothing like visiting a museum or gallery exhibition. While you are looking ArtIt’s like the whole world stops around you, and for a moment it’s just you and the artwork.
And if you can collect Travel And art, then it is just heaven. I recently went to Naples and did a very curated tour of the museums and galleries and it was just outstanding. This city’s art institutions were like havens of peace on bustling streets, each more spectacular than the last. There are so many hidden gems in Naples and it felt so special to discover them.’
What kind of feeling do you most hope to bring to your wallpaper home?
‘The most important feeling I want to bring into the home is a sense of joy and calm. I think people sometimes underestimate the influence of interiors on their mood, but bringing beautiful colors and textures into your home can make you a little happier in the morning.
That’s why I use bright colors that are still soft, creating a feeling of joy, but also of peace. My desire is also to bring the artistry out of the canvas. These wallpapers have a mural-like quality to them, making it look as if the artist came and painted directly on the walls.’
How has your French Texan heritage shaped your creative outlook?
‘I think my Texas side has given me the courage to be bold and less afraid to take creative risks. I’m also very solution-driven, which I think is very American in general, and I’m always excited to tackle the next creative challenge.
From the French side, I learned a lot about craftsmanship, heritage and elegance in design. lives in Paris The last eleven years have been an incredible learning in that regard. The French have such a deep appreciation for quality, whether it’s in food, fashion, art or ArchitectureAnd I believe there must always be a driving force behind any creation.’
What type of artwork are you particularly drawn to?
‘I am very attracted to art that feels poetic, ethereal, joyful and peaceful. I think this may be because my mind is often quite chaotic, constantly bouncing between a million thoughts at once, so I need art around me, especially in my home, to bring a sense of calm, peace and stability.
I also think that, as a highly sensitive person, I am naturally drawn to work that has a sense of nostalgia and fantasy, with a touch of nostalgia. There is something comforting about this kind of art, something that feels both imaginative and deeply soothing.’
