“Ruffles” Crochet Scarf Yarn.

Crochet scarf pattern
The good news for beginners: you can chain any number for this pattern, odd or even. In our example, for the foundation circuit, CH21 +1.
Line 1-7
SC in the second CH from the hook and in each CH of the main row (21 SC). CH1, turn.
Now the fun begins – we’ll start the row with ruffles. Another good news for beginners: the row of ruffles does not require any counting, graphing, etc. Rather, you will randomly alternate 2DC and 3DC stitches made in the back stitches of the previous row of single crochet.
Row 8
SC in BL of first ST, HDC & DC in next ST, 3DC in next ST, 2DC in next ST, continue alternating 2DC & 3DC in BL until 2 stitches remain, HDC & DC in next ST, SC in last ST. CH1, turn.
Row 9
For this row, we will crochet in the same row, but in the remaining stitches. To do this, turn your knitting so that the ruffles are at the bottom and start making SC stitches in the remaining stitches: 21 SC in BL only. CH 1, turn.
Line 10-15
SC in the second CH from the hook and in each CH of the main row (21 SC). CH1, turn.
As illustrated, for these rows everything is smooth: SC until you don’t seven rows of single crochet loops between each row of frills.
Continue alternating rows 8-9 and 10-15 until you have used up almost all of the yarn. For an infinity scarf, sew the ends together, weave in the ends.

Troubleshooting
It should be noted that this is an easy pattern and allows for some randomness and creativity. Ruffle rows are fun and you can experiment with adding more or less double crochet stitches and see how that affects the look of the ruffles.
While you are still learning the stitch, we recommend using stitch markers. Adding a stitch marker to the first and last stitches of your row of ruffles can provide much-needed help as you perfect this technique.
Most importantly, easy single crochet rows allow you to just crochet and relax while listening to an audiobook, podcast, or even watching a show.
