Why we love this project
If you want to save some pressed in a book, these pressed flower resin magnets would be a cute way to enjoy summer trips all year round. This particular resin magnet was made using mostly pressed hydrangeas, some small foliage, clovers, forget-me-nots and other blue wildflowers. But you can also experiment with different types of florals, for example, small pansies also come out really well when pressed.
I think this would be a beautiful project to preserve a piece of your wedding bouquet or someone special’s flowers. You can buy pre-pressed flowers online just as easily. How to make pressed flower resin magnets
Find the complete printable instructions and supply list at the end of this post.
- To prepare for this project, first, spray mold release and conditioner on your mold. This step is important to release your finished knobs after they have cured because the mold is rigid.
- Always read the instructions for your resin project. Protect your work surface and work in a well-ventilated area.
- Begin by mixing equal parts of EasyCast Clear Casting Epoxy and Hardener in a mixing cup. I mixed a total volume of 2.5oz.

- Mix for a full two minutes with a wooden craft stick. Then pour the mixture into the 2nd cup and stir for an additional minute. This part is really important to ensure the best results, so don’t skip it!

- Divide the mixed resin evenly among three additional cups (four portions total).

- Add a separate drop of each color to each cup. Stir thoroughly.

Assemble your resin magnets
- Pour different colors of resin into different mold compartments to about 2/3 full.

- Sprinkle some fine glitter on top of each 2/3 full poured resin mold. Then place the pressed floral and leaf mixture inside each mold.

- Pour more colored resin on top of each mold while covering the pressed flowers at the same time.
- After about 30 minutes, blow any air bubbles that rise to the top using your breath through a straw or a small kitchen torch.
- Cover the mold to prevent dust from collecting and let the resin cure for 24 hours. After 24 hours, remove the resin from the mold.

- Squeeze a dab of E6000 adhesive onto the magnet and press the magnet into the center of the resin (the inside of the mold). Repeat for all magnets.

- Once the adhesive has set, use the magnet to hold special notes, photos and to-do lists on your magnetic board or fridge. Or alternatively, just use them on their own and enjoy their natural beauty!
