If you’ve ever experienced the heartbreak of falling in love with a fabric and then finding that it’s too expensive to do anything meaningful with it, Etsy is a dream come true. Whether you’re after archival fabric or something from a new collection, a light search on Etsy will lead you to a number of artisans making everything from cushions and poufs to lavender bags and even lampshades. I recently invested in two beautiful cushions made from Studio Ashby’s ‘Afua’ and ‘Patch’ for my sitting room. I’m a big fan of vintage posters, and while you can find a wealth of unlicensed reprints of old designs on Etsy, I’ve been burned by the ones that came before and were of extremely poor quality, with desaturated colors and visible pixelation. If you dig a little deeper, there are also some amazing sellers of original posters, viz VintagePosterUKAnd Outside of Copenhagen. Of course, the prices will be a bit high for these pieces of history, but there are some great deals to be had if you dig deep enough and find the right sellers. I love old travel or railway posters, and although they are out of my price range, This one from the 1930s Ad the pretty Yorkshire town of Harrogate is a beautifully preserved example. A bit more cheap but still an original, I really like it too The bold, graphic design 1980 Copenhagen Jazz Festival announcement.
