This colorful Marshmallow edible paint takes minutes to whip up and can be used to decorate cookies, marshmallows, bread, and even plain old paper (maybe even make these Footprint penguin art?)

Kids and adults alike can use this delicious marshmallow edible paint to decorate cookies or use the mixture as kid-safe paint to draw designs on paper. Marshmallows, water, light corn syrup, and food coloring are all you need to make the funnest paint ever for kids (or adults).
Marshmallow paint is a quick and easy way to let kids decorate cookies themselves. Or, host a cookie and marshmallow decorating party, and instead of hard-to-cut frosting bags, put out marshmallow paint and brushes.

How to Make Marshmallow Edible Paint

- Place the marshmallows in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds. These marshmallows will puff up a bit. Stir in the water and continue to microwave for an additional 30 seconds.
- Stir well to completely melt the marshmallows from the residual heat. Blend until smooth. If necessary, continue microwaving at 15-second intervals. Stir in light corn syrup to desired consistency.
- Divide the marshmallows into different containers. Add a few drops of food coloring (gel paste food coloring is used here) until the desired shade is achieved. Allow to cool enough for children to handle.
- To paint, use popsicle sticks or a clean, unused paintbrush. Store leftover paint in a sealed container at room temperature for up to three days.
- Note that the paint dries well enough to handle, but remains a bit sticky. So you can’t stack cookies decorated with edible marshmallow paint.
While rainbows are fun and easy to make with edible marshmallow paint, now I want to explore more intricate designs with finer brushes. It will also work well on spilled and dried ink icing and decorating fondant. There are so many possibilities to use this sweet, edible, vibrant “paint”.

- 1/4 Cup water
- 2 to 3 Spoon Light corn syrup
- Food coloring
