HexClad is a brand known for its hybrid stainless steel cookware, but its ever-expanding product range actually covers a wide area of the kitchen. Best non-stick pan.
It was a purchase that came highly recommended to me by other kitchen editors Stainless steel bowl set from HexClad (£99 at HexClad)Although I have to say that at first I was skeptical about splashing that much cash on a bowl of all three mixes.

1. They keep food fresh for longer
Unless you’re the type of person I dream of being, there’s a chance that you, like me, don’t always eat or use up all the food in your fridge before it goes bad. Whenever I have to throw away food, I always hear my very frugal Nanna’s frustrated voice in my head.
I’ve tried a few things in the past to try and cope with this, including: Zwilling’s StayFresh range (from £89 on Amazon) Which comes with a rechargeable pump for vacuum sealing compatible food containers. In theory this is a great system but the need to charge the device to remove air from the container is a hindrance to a totally seamless kitchen for me.

That’s why I was drawn to the vacuum-seal element of these Hexclad bowls. You don’t need a pump to activate the seal – you just need to push the lid down until it locks into place with the lip of the bowl. Then you press the button on the lid and the lock will be tight, pushing the air out.
It’s the same design as the meal prep set I just tried from Blake + Blum, which kept my leftovers fresh for significantly longer. In practice, I’ve used Hexclad bowls for most meals, including salads and proteins, along with my meal prep containers.
2. Quality build and design
An understandable unease about PFAs has eliminated the use of plastic utensils and kitchen utensils, which is where this set really comes into its own. Each bowl, which all snaps neatly together in a very pleasing way, is crafted from stainless steel and has a non-slip rubber base on the exterior. The set has three sizes: 1.4L, 2.8L and 4.7L.
The smallest bowl has proven invaluable for storing leftover salad or protein (it’s currently full of crunchy slaw in my fridge). And while a medium-sized bowl is great for mixing said salad, it’s ideal for mixing dough.
Each bowl has measurement markings on the inside, which are very helpful for measuring the capacity of whatever you’re mixing, with markings up to 2.5 liters.
The ability to use metal utensils on the bowl means you don’t have to be overly careful when you’re mixing, and there’s also a date-setting dial on the valve, so you can remember exactly when you put the contents in. You can mix really hard with these bowls without worrying about them disappearing from your worktop thanks to the rubber base that keeps them anchored in place.
All these features may seem small but together they make using these bowls an absolute breeze. I reach for them at every meal for the cooking process and storage.
3. They are easy to keep clean
There are a few purchases in my kitchen that I rely heavily on that are also a nightmare to clean (I’m looking at you, Julienne Peeler) so I’m relieved to report that’s not the case with this bowl set.
The bowls and lids are dishwasher safe (with the latter only needing to sit in the top rack) and with my favorite pans also designed with a stainless steel exterior, Our place titanium panAfter cleaning comes out shiny.

Metal is also very easy to clean. And if you’re sick of cookware that retains odors and marks (like when you store leftover tomato-based sauces) you’ll no doubt be impressed by the lack of absorbency that comes with this professional-grade stainless steel material.
So if you’re looking for a real workhorse purchase for your kitchen, I couldn’t recommend this HexClad set more highly. Precious? Absolutely. But I bet it’s something that will really go the distance too.
