Find comfort and courage in Esther’s story—God’s reminder that He is always in control, and has a purpose and a plan for you.

Sometimes, when the world seems uncertain or overwhelming, I am reminded that God has a plan for every season and person, including you and me. The story of Esther in the Bible shows how one woman’s courage and faith, guided by God’s invisible and ever-present hand, changed the course of history.
Even in the midst of a troubled world, the beauty around us reminds us that God is still with us and good. Lately, I have been praying for peace often. For the people of Israel and Gaza and for all those suffering from war, loss and injustice. God’s Word continues to bring comfort and assurance.
Remembering what God says
At times when we feel overwhelmed by the cares of this world, it is important to remember and speak the true word of God. Here are some scriptures that speak to me. Maybe they will help you too!
Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your staff and your rod, they comfort me.
Psalm 23:4
Fear not, for I am with you; Do not despair, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will hold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10
Be strong and courageous. Do not fear them or be afraid of them, for it is Jehovah your God who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.
Deuteronomy 31:6
The story of Esther
The book of Esther has always been one of my favorites! It’s undoubtedly a rags-to-riches story, but it’s much more than that. It is a powerful account of God’s providence and timing.
Historical background
The story of Esther takes place around 483-473 BC during the reign of King Ahasuerus (also known as Xerxes I), who ruled the vast Persian Empire from India to Ethiopia. The Jewish people lived in exile, far from their homeland, after being conquered and dispersed by foreign nations. It was a time of uncertainty, yet God was quietly working behind the scenes to protect His people through a brave young woman.
Before Esther became queen, King Ahasuerus held a grand banquet and invited his wife, Queen Vashti, to appear before his guests. When she refused, the king removed her from her royal position. To find a new queen, he ordered that the most beautiful young women in the kingdom be brought to the palace. Among them was a young Jewish woman named Hadassah, known by her Persian name Esther. She was raised by her cousin Mordecai, who taught her to love and honor God.
Through God’s providence, Esther found favor with everyone she met, including the king, who placed a royal crown on her head. She went from an orphaned exile to the queen of Persia, placed by God for a greater purpose than she could have imagined.
When an evil man named Haman plots to destroy the Jews, Queen Esther’s uncle Mordecai urges her to act boldly and plead with the king, even though approaching him uninvited could mean death. Mordecai said to him:
For if you remain silent at this time, there will be deliverance and salvation for the Jews from another place, and you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows if you haven’t received royalty For so long? Esther 4:14
Esther chose courage, and God used her obedience to save His people. The story ends with victory for the faithful and justice for the wicked.
We Were Made For This A Time As
Like Esther, we have been placed here for such as A time like this. No matter what challenges or uncertainty surrounds us, God is still in control, just as He was in Esther’s time, and as He always will be.
Jesus said,
I have told you these things so that you may find peace in me. In the world, you have tribulation, but take courage; I have conquered the world. John 16:33
For those who believe in Jesus, that promise is everything. We can find real peace even in the most challenging circumstances because our Savior has already overcome the world.
So, friend, take heart. No matter what you face, you can rest in the truth that God is faithful and present. He has not forgotten you. Anxiety and fear are thieves that rob us of joy, but faith restores peace. When anxiety rises, run to God’s Word. That is where truth and comfort reside.
Instead of letting fear take hold, thank God that you are living in this exact moment right now, because He has a purpose for you. Ask Him to use you to bring comfort, joy, and encouragement to others. You and I are both here For times like this To glorify God and make a difference wherever He has placed us.
think about
I have told you that in me you can find peace. You will suffer in this world. But take heart, I have conquered the world.
John 16:33

Happy Sunday, friends…
