This quick and easy to make ombre fall wreath using dollar store finds is an easy way to add fall color to your front entry.
Are you ready for some fall crafting and decorating inspiration? I finally feel ready for it myself, and this week I picked up several pots of mums for the front porch, switched out my doormat, and brought out my fallen outdoor pillows. I just need to finish off the fall porch decorating by picking up some pumpkins and putting a new wreath on the door. Today’s DIY dollar store wreath project is a quick and easy way to add a cheerful touch to your front entry for the coming season.
It always takes me a while to get into the fall vibe. I think I have the patience to let summer go and not always look forward to the long darkness and cold, wet days of winter. We’ve been incredibly lucky this year to be full of beautiful and warm sunny September-y days. Now that October is just a breath away, I’m starting to get ready for fall, and transitioning the home with seasonal touches outside.
Making a beautiful wreath to decorate our door is always one of my favorite fall crafts. Over the past few years I’ve done a few things that I still love. These three are my all-time favorites…

How to make this garland
To make this I used a flat MDF wreath form I picked up at my local Dollarama, as well as a few bouquets of dahlias in a warm fall tone from the dollar store as well.

I started by carefully removing the flowers from the stems, leaving the flower part intact. Once they were all gone I sorted by color and had them ready to attach.
Next, I added a generous amount of hot glue to the end of each piece, and then pressed it onto the MDF bead form, holding it in place until the glue cooled enough to set.
Grouping and applying the flowers by color helped me create an ombre effect. I continue to work my way around the MDF wreath form, gluing on the flowers, until the form is full.
Finally, I hung it on the door using command hooks, as it was easy to slide the MDF form over the lip of the hook and hide it from the flower petals!
