DIY 4th of July Banner with Toilet Paper Rolls Tutorial
Learn how to make a banner using empty toilet paper rolls with this easy guide!

Soak empty toilet paper rolls in water for a few minutes until the pieces separate. You will need 8 TP rolls for this project.

Separate the pieces as shown below and fold each in half. Let them dry.

After drying, paint 7 pieces red and 7 pieces blue. Let them dry completely.

Trace the letters onto the pennants using pencil, alternating colors for each letter, then color them with acrylic markers.

Take a dry, unpainted pennant and cut it in half. Glue the pieces together to make a rectangle, then paint it white.

Use acrylic markers to draw the flag.

Tape your finished letter banners to ribbon and display!

Crafting tip
If the cardboard is tangled, place a piece of plastic over it when it’s almost dry, then use a book as a weight to keep it flat.
Creative ideas and diversity
- Add your own design. Feel free to decorate the banner however you like. You can add a dashed border, use a different ad font, or change the colors to match your theme.
- Add decoration. Glue on lace, beads, glitter and sequins to give your banner a little extra flair.
