I wasn’t planning on posting any Christmas content in July this year, but sitting in that sweltering heat with nothing but warmer days ahead of me? I couldn’t help it. My mind turned to December.

25 Creative Christmas Decoration Ideas
1. Make a bow from old pieces of ribbon. you can see All my bow decoration ideas and how I make them here.
2. Layer in two types of beads. Here I have layered in magnolia and evergreen.

3. Fill the bowl with leftover ornaments and blue and white orbs. This bowl is now sold out – too I found a similar one here.
4. What if you can’t hang stockings on the mantle? Why not use a bookcase or hutch to hang stockings instead?

5. Tuck branches or stems (like these gold branches and bejeweled branches) to add dimension (and fill out the tree).
6. Books are your best friend when it comes to Christmas decorations. Add a book under different elements of your display to make it look a little more intentional.

7. Decorate with ornaments. I add them all over the room – on the side table and here on the mantel.
8. Make your own advent calendar with votes and charms. I bought this set years ago at Pottery Barn (you can still find them on eBay).
9. Decorate with gifts. Wrap small gifts and add ribbon and tie them around your room.

10. Don’t ignore door knobs. Here I hung a Santa tassel on a ribbon on a vintage doorknob. I also hung the bell with ribbon from the doorknob.

11. Make a table centerpiece out of a mini house. Here, I added a few small houses and ornaments to the center of the table.

12. Hang a garland from a mirror. I got this charm necklace from Walmart last year. I wrapped ribbon around the wreath and taped it to the top.
13. Add a Christmas pillow or two to your dining room chairs. It’s the perfect place to add some color.

14. Add the bow tree topper. It is very inexpensive and an easy way to add color to the top of the tree.

15. Cut 10″ pieces of ribbon and tie them to the tree. You can also tie them into a knot and or tie them around a branch. It’s much easier to add ribbon this way instead of winding ribbon all over the tree.
16. Make your own jewelry from pieces of wood. I hosted a glass several years ago with a local artist who showed us how to make jewelry. The best thing than drawing ornaments is drawing ornaments with friends.
17. Create a display for your center island with different sizes and textures of Christmas trees.

18. This bead is actually two beads layered together. I started with a basic evergreen wreath and then I added a eucalyptus wreath to the very center.
19. I got this paper ribbon years ago. I cut it out and added it to different places throughout the house. You can print out paper ribbons on your home computer and create a similar look.

20. Make an advent calendar out of small trees. I just pulled out the drawers on this vintage piece and added the trees.

21. Add a driftwood snowflake to the top of the Christmas tree. It makes the perfect tree topper.

22. Create a display on the hutch with small bottle brush trees and gingerbread houses and a small village.
23. Make stockings out of dropcloth with stamped vintage sayings.
24. Make a centerpiece out of a sleigh full of ornaments. I filled it with ornaments and added another paper ribbon with vintage fonts.

25. Add a monogram ornament to the tree. You can custom order them and paint them to match your decor.

I hope it cools down in Texas soon.
I think I’ll turn off the air conditioning and turn on the Christmas carols and click my ruby red slippers together and pretend it’s December.
