Benjamin Moore Halo OC-46 | The happy house

Benjamin Moore Halo is a soft off-white neutral color with green-gray undertones that can read as gray in some places. Halo works beautifully to create a relaxed atmosphere in any space.

I shared the other day details of our dining room wallpaper wall and how much I love the punch of energy and drama it provides in our great room. But I didn’t share the other big change I made to this part of our house right before the holidays. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen some hints of this in my stories late last fall. It’s paint! I repainted our living room and dining room in Benjamin Moore’s Halo OC-46 just a year and a half after moving into our newly built home. We love this neutral off-white green-gray paint color in this space. Updating our ways with Halo by Benjamin Moore brought a lot of warmth to our great room.

Why would I repaint in Halo OC-46 just months after painting all our walls in Chantilly Lace you may ask?

Well, the truth is, I really didn’t like the feel of our new living room and dining room for months and months after we moved in. Chantilly lace looked lovely and fresh in some of the rooms, especially those with better natural exposure. In other rooms, like our living room and dining room, it was dull, lifeless and shadowy.

After about a year and a half of living in his house, I hated the pure white real Chantilly lace in that room because it felt cold and boring in that area. And since this space is where we spend most of our time as a family, it was definitely time to bring in a little more warmth. With this off-white green-gray paint color on the wall, the light feels much better in this space.

What color is Benjamin Moore Halo?

Halo by Benjamin Moore was the perfect gray-green paint color to bring the warmth we were looking for in this room. It is described as “the softest shade of silver with a touch of green.”

What shades does Halo have?

Benjamin Moore’s OC-46 Halo has a green-gray tint that reads as gray (or gray-beige) in many lights. It’s like a soft silver gray tone with green undertones. Shades of green add warmth to gray.

Is Benjamin Moore Halo warm or cool?

Halo OC-46 is a warm version of gray, which is usually considered a cool color. Because of the green undertones mentioned above, it reads more in gray than solid gray, which warms it up considerably. Benjamin Moore Halo feels relaxed, calm, light and airy.

It’s amazing the BETTER warmer tone; color with just a hint of life appears in this darker corner of our home. And between our new paint color, wallpaper, and furniture updates, I’m finally starting to like our great room. I don’t love the fireplace stone we used though, so a little change is coming soon.
