Today is the day.
It’s an occasion to celebrate Mother’s Day with all its vintage and handmade awesomeness.
We’ve been working on our booth for the past few days, and today is the first day of Vintage Market Days in McKinney.
Are you local?
It’s at Myers Park and Events Center in McKinney.
you All details can be found here.
But what if you’re not local?
I thought it would be fun to visit the booth.
(Totally aside: this is our second booth and we’re still trying to figure it out and just between us? We’re still not really sure what we’re doing. Hee hee. I wanted to manage expectations before I take you on the tour.)
And now?
Here is our 2026 Spring Mother’s Day Vintage Market Days booth.
Here’s what you see when you walk into the front of the booth.
Similar to our shop?
A lot of it is handmade.
Here are some fancy booths with fancy signs and elaborate setups (which are awesome).
But here at Thistlewood & Company? We’re a bit more DIY. Westleigh drew a sign for our booth on wrapping paper. For our background, we are using pegboard walls that my husband and his father built.
Here is the table you see when you walk into the booth.
We made almost everything in the booth.
Check out these crochet flower pots with words of wisdom.
And these handpainted flower pots.
And these handpainted baskets with tags.
And these little handpainted canvases with topiaries.
We have two pegboard walls with bookcases that I lined with wrapping paper.
And this painted topiary tray.
And the chalkboard houses with chalkboard labels.
And this embroidered artwork with felted flowers.
I added these checked plastic tablecloths and we have matching aprons with khaki linens with large pockets.
I work the booth with Westley and my sister Whitney came over for the weekend.
Whitney has done a lot of shows and craft events so she helped me evaluate booths yesterday and offered super helpful advice that I may or may not have taken.
I’m stubborn when it comes to displays.
(Totally aside: Whitney, I put all the embroidered rugs together so you can tell me you’re right if they don’t sell).
It was so much fun crafting together.
We made these butterfly icons.
And this word hints.
We also have a large bucket of Scrabble letters that you can use to create your own word art.
We are very excited for today.
If you’re in the area or you’re shopping come vintage market days and say hi – we’d love to see you.
And if you’re not local?
No worries.
Let me know if you see something cool that we need to make for the shop. I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions.
Here’s to a handmade Mother’s Day. 🙂
