I spoke to kitchen experts on the best ways to combine style and longevity by figuring out what the most future-proof kitchen colors are in 2026.

Green is always a popular kitchen color scheme, but variations of the shade come in and out of trends. Choosing earthy undertones will help ground the space, to ensure the color is future-proof rather than fleeting.

2. Pale pink

‘Choosing lighter kitchen shades such as creams, whites or muted pastels can help reflect the light around the room rather than absorb it, as dark kitchen colors often do. These light hues create a timeless and airy aesthetic, making it ideal for small or dimly lit spaces where maximum natural light is required,’ explains Massimo Buster Minale, founder and creative director. With a more neutral color scheme, visual interest will come from small touches, such as hardware, lighting and decorative touches.
