Looking for simple self-care tips to help you feel amazing? Here are 17 tips to treat yourself and make you feel special.
I have thought long and hard about this post.
Have you ever noticed how sometimes we put everyone else before ourselves?
I love my family.
indeed.
I have spent a lifetime pouring into them and tending to them (I was just researching apartments for twins) and praying for them and going to all their events and hearing all their life stories.
And I am full of joy to do it.
But sometimes?
I am so busy taking care of everyone else that I forget to take care of myself.
So the last six months? I am prioritizing myself. I’m taking care of myself. I act like I am the most loved person in this whole world. I’m pouring into myself and taking care of myself and going to all my events and listening to all my life stories.
And along the way, I found something amazing.
When I take care of myself?
It is very easy to take care of everyone else.
So today? Here are 17 ways to take care of yourself (so you can take care of everyone else).
1. Try the “Gua Sha” tool
We’ve talked about this before, so skip this one if you’ve already tried it. If you are saying to yourself, “What is Gua Shat?” Let me start by linking to the “gua sha” tool so you can see what it looks like.
you The tool can be found here.
It is like a face massager and helps to sculpt your face and increase circulation. I start by applying oil on the face. I use a face oil like this one You can see here.
You can research its benefits and there are many great articles on how it works.
When I started using it—I researched videos on YouTube to see how to use it and followed along with them to get started.
I love him so much.
My face feels so alive and fresh after I finish that I have now cut back on the foundation I use. What I add to my face is glossion. Have you heard about it? I ordered it several months ago and am about to order my third tube. Westleigh borrows it when he comes home because he loves it too.
you can see Glosson here (I order the medium shade).
2. Make yourself a smoothie
I’m hooked on this. The recipe doesn’t really matter.
I just toss in a package of fruit and some more fruit and ice and sometimes a low calorie drink mix.
This single-serve blender is what I use. It’s kind of a game-changer.
3. Drink more water
Water doesn’t have to be boring (and it’s great for your skin, too).
My best tip? Someone gave it to me This water bottle as a gift. You can cut up the fruit and add it to the water bottle and it infuses the flavor. I got it too This is a pitcher full of water If you have company or party.
Here are some of my favorite combinations:
- Watermelon and mint
- Apples and lemons
- Lime and orange
- Strawberry and pineapple

4. Change your sheets
I know this sounds pretty simple, but it’s a game-changer.
we have This sheet on every bed in the house. Everyone comments on how soft they are and they don’t wrinkle from the dryer and they feel so fresh.
They are very affordable and that too There are over 400,000 reviews.
We spend an average of 8 hours a day in bed and you deserve the softest bed ever.
5. Spritz your sheets with lavender
There’s something about scented sheets that makes me think of Downton Abbey.
I used to use a lavender spray, but then I found this rosewater driftwood linen spray by my beloved Caldrea that is super affordable and smells amazing.
6. Treat yourself to a bubble soak
I think bath soaks look fancier than bubble baths and this foamy sleep is amazing with essential oils and Epsom salts and is the perfect self-care tip.
Plus it smells like you’re in a claw-foot bathtub in a hotel in England.
you Check out the four-pack here.
(On a gross side note: I was at Marshall’s last night and they have a great selection of bubble baths, etc. So that’s another great resource too.)
7. Read a book
i know, right?
Doesn’t that sound amazing?
There is something so delicious about treating yourself to an afternoon with a book.
you can see All my recommendations for my favorite books of the past year here.
8. Take a nap
I have perfected the art of the 15-minute nap. It is very joyful and inspiring at the same time.
I lay down and close my eyes and take a catnap.
You just need to give yourself permission.
My favorite place? Clouds floated beside the windows upstairs on that sofa.
9. Just sit down
If naps seem too overwhelming?
How about just sitting for 15 minutes?
Yes.
Just sitting and doing nothing.
You can also close your eyes.
That sneaks in when sleep.
10. Treat yourself to a weighted blanket
Have you ever used it before?
It’s the next best thing to a hug (probably even better if you’re not a hugger).
My weighted blanket is very old. I love it, love it, love it so much! I never have a problem sleeping because I just turn on the fan and wrap myself in it like a cocoon.
Here it is One I just found with great reviews.
11. Wash your towels in something that smells good
It’s the little things that make me so happy.
Like reaching for a towel and it smells amazing. It’s like a little treat that you forget about until you open the linen closet.
This is My go-to best deodorant.
It is one of my favorite smells.
I like using it too This towel (From the guest bath below) So when guests arrive, that room smells amazing.
This cleaner Makes the bathroom smell amazing too.
12. Add some fresh flowers. in your kitchen
You can cut them from your yard.
You can buy an inexpensive bundle at the grocery store and add greenery from your yard In this set of three vases.
You can simply cut branches from your yard.
The secret is to add something to the water in the vase and place it on your counter.
13. Turn on some music
and turn it over.
The twins and I do this all the time. We’ll turn on a classic that we all know the words to and sing it at the top of our lungs. This Portable speakers are cute and super easy to tote around the house for an instant party.
What if you’re not a singer?
Just dance.
14. Make something in the air fryer
Have you used one yet? I’m trying to teach myself this right now.
This A wonderful one.

Many of these self-care tips involve sleep.
That and water are two of my favorite things.
If you find yourself yawning at 9:00?
Give yourself permission to go to bed early.
16. Write a list of things you are grateful for
Sometimes life happens so fast and we don’t even realize all the blessings going on around us.
They are there.
We just need to remind ourselves.
A list puts it all on paper so you can look at it and number all the blessings.
17. Tell yourself you’re awesome
Remember when we discussed waking up and looking at yourself in the mirror?
And that mirror to tell ourselves that we were amazing?
Just try it and report back.
The first step to convincing the world you’re awesome? He believes himself.
You got this, friend.
Yes.
Yes, you do. 🙂
PS One last way to treat me?
A really good candle. BHG makes great candles, but my favorite scent is Red Lava Citrus.
