Best side sleeper pillows 2025, tried and tested
Why we love it: If you’re looking for truly luxurious down and feather pillows that are responsibly sourced, then some of these are a fantastic option; Your head just sinks like a cloud Luxurious Hungarian goose down mattresses. I chose a medium softness pair, although I found them to feel more on the soft side, so this is something to keep in mind – if you want a bit more resistance from your down mattress, I’d definitely go for the option. Despite the soft, breezy feel of the mattress, I appreciated the gentle, gentle support it provided to my neck and shoulders; I didn’t notice any strain or pain while waking up, which is a good sign. I’m a side sleeper, and the squashy nature of the mattress means they can fill the gap between head and shoulder, gently hugging my neck, which you don’t get with most foam mattresses. I also don’t notice them really flattening out and needing to be flipped over and fluffed massively in the middle of the night – when making my bed in the morning, they’re noticeably still very fluffy, which sets them apart from cheap or old feather and down mattresses.
Why we love it: Although it may seem a little difficult at first for those used to down pillows, you’ll soon get used to the firm feel of this Emma pillow, and appreciate the support it provides. I initially tested it on its own, but found that, for me, pairing it with a soft pillow on top gave me the best of both worlds—a firm support base, with a soft cushioning layer on top. After using it, I’ve noticed less and less of the neck pain and trapped nerve feeling when waking up from time to time. Three different foam layers are removable, allowing you to customize the pillow. It is the best memory foam pillow I have tried. Read the full review here.
