Not fashion hacks, but home decor hacks instead.
And I decided I needed to share.
After all, we are friends. right?
I mean, we talk almost every day and have coffee together and Talk about words And Friend figures And Blink and the french fries are missing And Why I’m never going to be like Emily Gilmore.
And friends show the easiest way to do everything.

I want to share my favorite home decor hacks.

1. Expand your kitchen cabinets
I just shared Before and after our kitchen renovation, And this was one of the best things we did in the kitchen to save money.
Here’s a hack to make your builder’s grade cabinets look custom.
You know the space above the cabinet?
It is very easy to extend the cabinets to the ceiling to make them look built in.
2. Add a cork top to the desk
Think no more about your damaged table or desk top.
Trust me.
This is very simple.

2. How to make your own white pitchers
These pitchers don’t always look like this.
Not even close.
I think one of them started with a bear face.
Here it is The easiest way to make your own whiteware is from the thrift store.
3. Make your basket old (or outdated).
I saw these vintage baskets with numbers and wanted to recreate them.
This is an easy hack with a thrift store basket.

4. Transform a builder-grade window
This is still one of my favorite home decor hacks.
It’s as simple as plywood and crown molding.
When we moved into the farmhouse all these windows were without mouldings.
Simple ordinary windows without much drama or character.
5. Spray paint curtain rods
If you’ve ever priced brass (or gold) curtain rods, you understand that you may need to take out a loan for window treatments.
Gold curtain rods like these are on trend right now.
But the price tag? hey Why people with gold curtain rods? Why spend? We have kids to get through McDonald’s drive-thru and college.
So I bought these curtain rods in the scratch and dent section of the store and spray-painted them gold.

7. Turn the paint sticks into a tabletop
This tabletop was pitiful.
It was cFull of splattered paint and rings where spray paint could have been used and scratches and large chips in the veneer. Shivering and just waiting for a make-over.

I had this plain white table and wanted something different. So I used painter’s tape and a wood grain tool to create one of my favorite home decor hacks.

10. Transform a builder grade door with paint
How do you transform a hollow core builder-grade door when your budget has already been spent on ceilings and floors and walls and pretty nail polish?
The answer?
Meet the door’s best friend – paint.
Paint can help us make that panel pop out and give the door visual interest and make it shine and look high-end and make the neighbors sit up and take notice and say, “It is a door.”
And the best part?
All you need is painter’s tape and paint.
