1. Philodendron

Indoor plant expert Daryl Cheng says, ‘Philodendrons’ large, glossy leaves (some even velvety) and clean growth habit have made them an all-time favorite. Easy to grow and care for, fast-growing and highly collectible, Hoya carnosa features waxy star-shaped cream flowers and dark green leaves on stems up to 15 feet or more in height.
Hoyas love bright, indirect light and moist places so your bathroom would be ideal. Given the right conditions it will grow into a large vining statement plant in a relatively short period of time. It’s another one that looks good on the back of shelves or in a hanging planter.
‘Once you add any one plant from this genus, you’re hooked,’ says Camille Bell Hill. ‘You can’t stop at just one, because they are so delightful. Of all the plant discoveries I’ve made, this is probably my favorite. You add them for their foliage and haunt them for their otherworldly bloom.’
5. Fiddle leaf fig

‘Try your hand at growing a moss pole,’ says Daryl Cheng. ‘Do it well and you’ll be rewarded with giant leaves climbing up the plant. Most of the plants you’ll find in the Epipremnum genus are cultivars of E. aureum, but varieties of E. pinnatum are also interesting.’
For best growth, find a window large enough to give your pothos plant plenty of indirect light. They are drought tolerant, so they can recover from a dry spell, but their growth may be stunted.
