Inside, the interior feels comfortable and effortless. The open-plan ground floor is anchored by rich wood flooring, warm earthy tones and industrial-inspired details, including exposed ventilation pipes that run dramatically across the ceiling towards the Falcon range cooker. The kitchen itself (understood to be designed by Ritchie), with the exception of the dark veined stone splashback, is almost entirely made of stainless steel, providing the practical feel of a professional kitchen.
On the other side of the room is a large arched sash window above a cream corner sofa that is paired with a rustic wooden coffee table and a colorful kilim rug. An antique mirror above the six-person dining table creates the illusion of a large room, while also reflecting the generously sized bookshelves in the separate reception room opposite. An additional guest toilet and utility room complete the ground floor.
Upstairs, throughout the study, two bedrooms and two bathrooms, industrial touches are exchanged for softer textures. The master suite has a soft palette with light wood floors, velvet upholstery, antique furniture and a gallery wall hung with picture rails. French doors that open onto a Juliet balcony overlooking the cobbled mews below allow plenty of natural light into the room. In the walk-through area, the master bathroom preserves one of the home’s most memorable architectural details, an exposed Victorian brick arch framing the freestanding bath, complimented by Carrara marble and mosaic marble flooring that make the room feel quietly luxurious.
