This week it seems like everyone is trying to move on and correct any mistakes made during the last heatwave. And for me, that meant making sure I had a better supply of ice during the hottest days of the year last week – especially given that every supermarket I visited I was greeted by a completely bare freezer shelf.
To solve the problem, I must admit that I am looking at an ice maker (like this one). Amazon for £62.99) that can sit on my kitchen countertop on the hottest days. As I’m not blessed with a freezer (or a large freezer at all!) with ice making facilities, I think I’ll have to outsource this need to a standalone appliance like I have one with. When I invest in an ice maker I will also pick this up £6 fan attachment We wrote last week about the DIY air conditioning effect. If you have a fan and no AC, it’s a must! It would definitely be an upgrade for me from putting my ice in a bowl on the stool.
While the ice maker, viz Ninja A slushie (which has also been running non-stop in my flat this summer), hardly a kitchen essential, can make unbearably hot days a little more livable – at least, according to these reviews. Amazon Purchases have increased. I think every little bit helps when we face the next hot spell!
