How many houses does King Charles have?
King Charles owns six properties: Clarence House, Highgrove House, Birkhall Castle, Llwynywermod, Dumfries House and Castle of May. With the death of Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles will now also inherit Buckingham Palace and Balmoral Castle.
Who lives in Clarence House now?
Clarence House has been home to King Charles III and Camilla the Queen for over 20 years. The pair arrived in 2003 and will continue to call Buckingham Palace home until renovations are completed.

Clarence House, which is adjacent to St James’s Palace and a stone’s throw from Buckingham Palace, is home to many members of the royal family – including the king’s two sons. Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, lived here from 2003 to April 2011, and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex lived here from 2003 to March 2012. Clarence House has also served as the private office of Prince Charles (now King Charles III) in the past.
Before that it was the home of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother from 1953 to 2002. Before that it was the home of Princess Elizabeth (before she became Queen) from 1947. Her daughter Princess Anne was there in August 1950.

The King lives in Clarence House and intends to do so until the Buckingham Palace renovation is completed in 2027.
