Make Room for Spring: The HomeBody Method for Creating a Peaceful Home

Every spring brings a familiar, hopeful feeling. The days get a little brighter, the air feels lighter, and we begin to dream of a new beginning at home.

Maybe you’re feeling the urge to declutter a little, freshen up a room, or add a few simple touches to make your home feel spring-ready.

But if you’re anything like me, you can also feel a little overwhelmed knowing where to start.

Maybe the clutter or accumulations from winter are still sitting there on the floor.

Your home to-do list can grow faster than you can check things off.

You may even have decorating projects you started last year that are now on hold.

Sound familiar? Maybe it even feels a little exhausting.

Over the years, I’ve discovered something important about creating a home that I truly love.

It takes time. And it’s not always easy.

But juggling it all doesn’t have to feel as exhausting as it once did. Something was missing, I just didn’t know what.

What I eventually realized was missing wasn’t a better routine, more time, or another to-do list, but a method to the madness—a clear method that brought together the mindsets, habits, and rhythms I needed to create a sanctuary at home in a way that felt achievable, sustainable, and restorative.

When I started practicing this at home, something changed. Not only in my home, but also in me.

And so I created what I now call The HomeBody method.

I want to share it with you!

The HomeBody Method is a simple approach that brings together the rhythm of caring for your home, decorating with intention, and welcoming the seasons—so that everything works together instead of feeling scattered.

c The HomeBody houseI teach a refreshing, restorative method for decorating, caring for your home, and welcoming the seasons – so that creating a peaceful haven feels more pleasant and natural over time.

The HomeBody Method:

The HomeBody Method is a simple approach to creating a sanctuary at home through three rhythms that we practice throughout the year in The HomeBody house.

These rhythms give us a foundation to build on and a structure to return to when life or the seasons change. They help keep our home and life in balance so that our home feels like a sanctuary in every season.

Not a perfect home – because life happens – but a calmer way to take care of it.

This rhythm is about taking care of our homes in small pockets of time.

Instead of needing large blocks of time or energy, we practice simple and fun housekeeping rhythms (like oiling!) that help us maintain peace and order little by little. I’m sharing my beats so you can jump right in and get started right away!

I just gave HomeBody House and our rhythms a spring refresh so everything is very easy to follow and enjoy.

We all want a home that feels welcoming and beautiful.

The Room Recipe gives you a clear foundation for decorating so that your decisions become easier and your home develops with more confidence and less overwhelm.

You spend less and have fewer regrets when you are clear about your direction. Your recipe will reduce decision fatigue and stop you from second-guessing every choice, so you can create momentum, not get stuck.

You can watch my video introduction to Room Recipe here!

Our resources are a combination of short videos, pep talks about home therapy, written instructions, visual graphics, beautiful guides and printables so you always feel fresh and entertained.

Each season gives us a chance to pause, reset, and breathe new life into our homes.

We continue to build on our essential home beats and decorating recipes each season — so we don’t have to start over. With your rhythms to follow, you’ll know what to do and how to decide what’s next! This helps us to create a real haven where we too feel our best.

We practice and study together inside The HomeBody house!

This season in The HomeBody housewe begin our spring session with a simple theme:

Make room for spring.

Before we decorate or redecorate our homes for the season, we always start with an intention. I’ll tell you how!

I also like to start with a clean slate, so we’ll do a Butter Declutter—it’s our gentle reset that helps both you and your room feel relaxed and cared for again. (It’s like pitching, but with a plan!)

I even give you four simple Putter Declutters to choose from to make it super easy to get started—and we can all make our Putter Declutters together!

From there, we welcome the season with fresh decorating inspiration, simple joys, and small steps that make a big difference in the feel of our homes.

• Creating breathing space in our homes with Putter Declutters
• The practice of 10 minute retreat rhythms for everyday peace at home
• Refreshing our Recipes for rooms so decorating feels easier and more fun
• Welcoming spring with simple seasonal touches and fresh inspiration

If you’d like some guidance, encouragement, and a relaxed rhythm to follow this season, I’d love to welcome you to our Happy HomeBodies community!

Come to us The HomeBody house.
