Once a color trend hits the mainstream, it’s only natural that we start looking for the next best thing. As we’ve become more comfortable using pink, paler varieties of the shade are seen as neutral palettes that are easy to integrate into a scheme. So we’re due a bolder look to replace the once divisive nature of pink.

In the kitchen, creating warmth without sacrificing space is a delicate balance. The beauty of this shift to pink’s ‘big sister’ is that there are still many shades to choose from. Shades of burgundy with purple undertones lean into the aubergine palette, while red shades with a blue base, as shown above, have a more classically red look.

‘Burgundy kitchens are going to be huge this year. Moving away from dark blue kitchens, burgundy adds more warmth and depth than dark blue—it’s a creative spin on a traditional kitchen. What is so attractive about burgundy – like Purple 03 – is a really warm, cozy color and works wonderfully when used as an accent color to drench a room or even add contrast,’ explains Tesh Bradley, Director of Interior Design. to lick.
You can also style it like pink. ‘Warm woods such as dark oak and walnut are replacing the cooler tones of recent years, adding depth and heritage,’ adds Al of Olive & Bar. Finishes are also becoming more tactile, with low-sheen paints, honed marbles and lightly veined quartz that delicately reflect light. Overall, homeowners want a kitchen design that feels more layered and refined.’
