Helpful crafting tips
- Acrylic paint will wash off this mug. However, if the mug will be used for decorative purposes only, you can use acrylic paint and coat with acrylic sealer. Wipe with a damp cloth as needed.
- Check your local dollar store for inexpensive mugs.
- Personalize this mug even more by writing your father’s first name on the other side.
How to Make a Father’s Day Mug
Make sure the coffee mug is clean and dry.

Use a child’s thumb and red enamel paint to add a “daddy” figure to the cup. If it seems too small you can enlarge it.
Use the color blue (or pink for a girl) and the index finger to add the baby to the cup.

Use a thin paintbrush to paint on the legs and arms. Connect the hands between the letters so that they hold hands.
Use a thin paintbrush to add hair.

Use a thin paintbrush to write “Daddy” above the letters and “& me” below the letters.
Bake your Father’s Day mug in the oven according to the directions on the back of the enamel paint bottle. You can also air dry, however, air drying requires several days rather than a few hours in a low temperature oven.
