What I didn’t expect was just how nervous I would feel. I didn’t think I was going to be a boring bride, but knowing there were 200 people waiting for me in the church made my hands shake like a leaf. However, as my dad helped me out of the car and I saw the archway properly inflated for the first time, my anxiety subsided and all I felt was excitement. I can only compare it to the anticipation of opening a present, knowing that inside was not only my fiancee waiting for me but also this extraordinarily colorful world of mine! So while there were many people, watching me, the church suddenly became very small. As we exchanged vows, it felt as if it was just me and him, cocooned by my flowers. As if they were my security blanket. It felt so natural, standing there under a canopy of flowers, surrounded by our flower chandelier. It was truly a magical moment when I felt that both the florist and the bride were perfectly arranged.
More than anything I was hoping to pull off an extraordinary ball; To symbolize our ceremony and wedding flowers for me – full of the most fabulous spirit of installations, color and joy. That many of those beautiful flowers were lovingly grown especially for us by my own family and the wonderful suppliers added an extra special layer of significance.
