The topic of today’s post may sound a bit strange at first, but I hope you’ll bear with me. 🙂 My goal with each blog post is to share at least one thing with you that helps make your life easier. Sometimes that thing takes the form of a useful tip or trick, instructions or a piece of advice on how to make something. But every now and then, I come across a product that is so useful, I feel compelled to share it with you.
And that’s why today I’m going to tell you about my favorite trash bag! I didn’t know it was possible to love trash this much, but here we are! I find myself admiring its useful features several times a day, so I wanted to tell you about it in case any of you might benefit from upgrading your trash can. 🙂

6 Reasons Why I Love My Trash Can
1. Motion sensor
It can be difficult to lift the lid on your trash can when your hands are full or covered in food. That’s why I love the motion sensor on this trash can! All I have to do is move my hand over the sensor and the lid will pop up on its own. It’s so convenient, and so much healthier too!
2. Voice activation
This waste not only has a motion sensor, but also a voice sensor. Just say “Open Can!” And the lid opens just fine! I don’t use this feature very often, but my boys love it. They love asking to open cans so they can practice basketball skills from their kitchen trash. (I let this slide because they know full well that it’s their own responsibility to clean up any mess if they miss it!) 😉
3. Trash bag storage
Perhaps my favorite feature is the integrated storage pocket on the back for extra bags. It’s great to have a new trash bag ready when I pull out a full bag!
One minor drawback of these and other Plain Human brand trash cans is that they are designed to be used with them. A specially fitted trash bag. However, this is not much of a problem for me. Not only do their bags fit perfectly and never slip, they are also more durable and leak-proof than any other bag I’ve used!
4. Easy bag changing
I had another motion-activated trash can before I got this one, but it had a few things I didn’t like. One issue I had with it was how unnecessarily I had to pull out the liner bucket to replace the trash. With my new trash can, the process of switching bags is so much easier!
All I have to do is lift up the lid section, take out the whole bag and put in a new one. Then I pop the lid back down, and it’s ready to go! The lid both secures the bag in place and hides the edges of the bag, so the exterior of the trash can looks attractive and clean.
5. Smudge-proof finish
The finish on this trash can not only looks great, it stays that way! I’m not sure how it works, but the finish removes fingerprints and smudges. And when it gets spilled or splashed, all I have to do is wipe it with a damp microfiber cloth. I love having trash that never feels “dirty.”
6. Five year warranty
While this trash can is definitely a bit pricier than its standard, low-tech counterparts, your investment is protected by a five-year warranty. It gives me peace of mind knowing that if I run into a problem with it over the next several years, Easy Humans will replace or repair the faulty parts for me!
