Even if it is covered by bedA striped cotton jacquard cover with a piped edge looks smart and is a nice design touch. The down and feathers they use are naturally white, so there is no bleaching involved, and they are a byproduct of the food industry, with all suppliers being cruelty free. Their 10-year product guarantee demonstrates the White Company’s confidence that the duvet will stand the test of time.
Now lay down Hungarian goose down duvet Full summer last year, and returning to it for this spring and summer, it’s clear how much of an upgrade it is. It’s more breathable than my old duvet, and makes sleeping more bearable during warm nights. However, this light duvet is sadly no match for the British winter, so I would be interested in customizing my 4.5 tog with a buttoned 10.5 tog version, to maximize the potential of this duvet. It went through the washing machine with no problem and backed up nicely in the dryer. I definitely won’t be going back to my old duvet anytime soon.
Fact file
For the 4.5 tog, it costs £200 for a single, £250 for a double (the size I tested), £290 for a king and £330 for a super king size. The price increases further for higher tog versions of this product. This 10.5 were takenOn the other hand, a double is £330, and Took 13.5 is £370.
Delivery
The duvet arrived quite large, White Company-Branded cardboard boxes, which can be broken down and recycled easily. As the product is over £50, it qualifies for free delivery, and it arrived quickly. Inside, the duvet is packed in a smart, reusable cotton carry bag that I now store my old duvet in. Also inside the carry bag was the cufflink, which came in a small plastic bag (would be nice if it could be a cotton pouch too!), and a warranty and care card.
So far, I’ve found this duvet to be very fluffy and light, yet it keeps you as warm as you need it to be. For me it’s ideal from spring to summer and even early fall. As I tested the 4.5 tog, I will need to use a higher tog duvet once the temperature really drops. For those who have a preference for very soft, thick and puffy duvets with a weighty feel, this may not be the right choice, as this range is quite light and airy.
