One of the entertainment challenges is cheap performance ideas. Here’s one of my favorite hacks using these foldable buffet risers.
Check out this stack of books on the dining room table.
Except.
Except they aren’t books.
What do you think of them?
A storage box?
Christmas decor?
Something for the Fourth of July to celebrate the semi-annual?
No.
No.
No.
Any thoughts? If I gave you a million guesses, I don’t think you’d guess what this actually is.
I couldn’t believe it when they showed up and I opened the package and turned them into these.
They came in a plastic package, and I opened them up and folded them into this honeycomb star.
Now, do you know what that is?
Can you see it?
Here’s a tall one.
They are very easy to put together.
I almost did it with one hand.
There are little tabs that wrap around a section of pages.
I just looped it and pressed it in place.
Now there’s a tall one and a short one with velcro tabs that are pressed all over the place.
Can you guess now?
You probably figured it out because you are literally a decorating genius.
Because these folded paper sections are actually……

Pedestals.
The perfect display for a party with these BUFFET RISERS.
The set I ordered comes with six different risers (two of each size).

The set comes with these acrylic tops which make the riser very sturdy.
Whenever I throw a party, I always try to add height to the display and this is the answer.
And the best part?
When are you done with the party? All you have to do is fold it back into books and the display takes up 1/8 of the storage space that regular pedestals take up.

Yesterday, the twins came home from their jobs and I surprised them.
I had this whole fun display set up in the dining room.
It took me about 10 minutes from start to finish.
I added grapes and cheese and brownies and strawberries and croissants and chicken salad and I put everything on these wonderful wavy melamine plates. Which you can see here.
I took this.
And turned it into a party.
It was very fun. There was laughter and conversation and stories about the day. I’m so glad both chicks are home for a while and I get to hear all the life moments I’ve missed.
And along the way I found something.
What’s better than just a fun hack that creates a display in minutes and then folds up to fit in a drawer?
Sharing with your daughters. 🙂
