When I stop and think of all the ways I used to Oxyclean Over the years in my home, I wonder more and more how I ever lived without it! Today, the OxiClean brand covers a range of household cleaning products, from dishwasher boosters to carpet cleaners.

I refer to four different methods for preparing and using OxiClean throughout this post. I’ve included a preferred option for each tip in italic text, but I’ll explain those options here.
Here is a brief overview of the formats mentioned in this post:
- powder – Use OxiClean in its original powder form.
- Paste it – Make a paste by adding 1 tablespoon of OxiClean powder to 1 tablespoon of water.
- the pit – Make a soaking solution by adding 1/4 cup OxiClean per gallon of water used.
- cleaning solution – Make a cleaning solution by stirring 1 teaspoon of OxiClean in 1 cup of warm water until the powder is completely dissolved. Pour the solution into a squeeze bottle for use. (Note: Avoid spray bottles, as oxygen bleach solutions produce carbon dioxide gas that will accumulate in sealed containers.)

1. Clean the bathroom sink
Format: Paste
Bathroom sinks can get very dirty over time, resulting in discoloration around the drain and overflow hole. Use an OxiClean paste to scrub all that grime away quickly and easily!
Simply apply the paste to your sink, let it sit for a few minutes, then scrub it off An old toothbrush. After that, rinse your sink thoroughly and polish the fixtures with a microfiber cloth.
2. Remove stickers and labels

To remove adhesive residue, stickers and stubborn labels, first prepare an OxyClean soak in your sink. Submerge the container you want to clean in water and let it soak for an hour or so.
After an hour, the labels and/or stickers should fall right off! If there is any residue stuck to the container, use a sponge to clean it.
3. Clean outdoor items
Format: Cleaning solution
You can use a simple OxiClean solution to clean a variety of outdoor items. I’ve used it to clean the carpet in my birdbath, patio furniture, and my husband’s fishing boat — just apply, scrub, and rinse!
4. Clean your range hood filter
Format: Pit
If you haven’t cleaned it recently, the easiest way to clean the filter inside your range hood of grease and grime is to use an OxyClean soak, either in your kitchen sink or in your coldest cooking pot.
Soak the filter in OxiClean for 30 minutes or more (soak the exposed part of the filter if necessary), then rinse clean. Allow the filter to dry for several hours or overnight before replacing it.
5. Carpet stain treatment
Format: Cleaning solution
You can use OxyClean Spray to clean spills or pet stains on your carpet! Blot the area with a clean, dry cloth to remove as much of the stain as possible, then saturate the stain with the solution.
Blot the area again with another clean cloth and repeat as needed until the stain disappears. Later wash the area with clean water.
6. Brighten the grout lines
Format: Paste
A simple paste of OxiClean and water can make your kitchen grout look like new again! Use an old toothbrush or small cleaning brush to apply the paste to grimy grout lines.
Give the paste a quick scrub, then let it sit for about 10 minutes. When you’re done, wipe the area with a damp cloth.
7. Clean and disinfect the litter box
Format: Pit
Both indoor and outdoor litter boxes can become dirty and smelly over time. To clean and freshen it up, prepare a bucket of OxyClean soak and bring it to your trash can.
Dip a cloth or scrub brush in the soak and use it to clean the inside and outside of your litter box. Clean it with a hose or in your tub, then allow the can to air dry completely before use.
8. Whiten canvas shoes

Restore your dirty white cads to their former glory with OxiClean Soak! Prepare a soak in a bucket or sink, then soak your shoes in it for 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the soil level.
After soaking, scrub the shoes with a stiff brush to remove loose dirt. Rinse thoroughly in clean water, then allow the shoes to air dry for several hours before wearing.
9. Make your own laundry detergent

10. Clean your shower curtain liner
Format: Powder
We’ve all run into the issue of nasty buildup on shower curtain liners. But luckily for us, OxiClean makes it easy to get rid of all that soap scum, mildew, and that gross orange mystery gunk!
Toss the shower curtain liner in your washing machine with a bath towel or two to help protect it. Then add a scoop of OxiClean to the washer Wash on a delicate setting with cold water. Hang in the shower to dry.
11. Hand wash delicates and accessories

Accessories such as baseball hats and delicate clothing can become distorted or damaged if you try to clean them in your washing machine. But with an OxyClean soak and a little elbow grease, you can Clean them safely so they look brand new!
