When it comes to planning Collection For our homes, it can be easy to fixate on the practical side of things and forget how you really want it to look. A wardrobe is a great example: you spend weeks, even months, getting the best possible position, arrangement and interior layout (shelves, hanging rails, shoe rack, somewhere for suitcases…) only to run into the finishing touches and plump for basic doors painted in gray or white and fitted with clinical-looking handles. But it doesn’t have to be like this.
There are countless ways to spruce up your wardrobe, many of which are surprisingly straightforward and budget-friendly. If you have some new wardrobes fitted, the options are endless: you can replace the upper door panel with fabric (either with or without glazing), add some texture or pattern. Wallpaper (or cover the entire exterior), mirrored fronts, hand-color A design on the door, or an attractive shape or motif cut out and replaced with an interesting material such as rattan, cane or chicken wire – this has the added benefit of aiding ventilation within the garment. Even if you’re going to buy ready-made, assemble-at-home wardrobes, you can still put your own stamp on them with some decorative effects like paint, wallpaper or decoupage. And if you’re a very capable DIYer (or know someone who is), you can try your hand at some cut-out or inset panels yourself.
