While ‘cabin’ may be the technical term for each of the yacht’s 95 Tilburg-designed guest rooms, it doesn’t quite fit here. Each spacious, residential-style suite, many with private terraces and some with plunge pools, features the bathroom Finished in seafoam toned Brazilian quartzite and marble. This wall panels Anigre looks like wood, but it’s actually a highly durable veneer designed to be fire, scratch and UV resistant, a reminder that this is, after all, a hotel by the sea. Shelves are carefully lined with travel books by publisher Prosper Assoulin, who is also the yacht’s creative director and co-founder of the brand.
At the very top end of the boat, is the nearly 10,000-square-foot Funnel Suite, centered around a mirrored spiral staircase. Other public spaces, including restaurants and bars, are the work of Martin Brudnizki. This marked their first yacht project, and designing for life at sea brought a certain set of challenges. Unlike land-based projects, where drawings can often be refined as work progresses, yacht designs are fixed from the moment they are issued, leaving no room for later changes.
Fortunately, there is little that calls for change. Even the youngest communal spacesLike the cigar room, it has been treated with careful consideration. Rather than layering multiple decorative gestures, the approach focuses on a single, confident design, with glass shell lights filling the space to create an immersive, jewel-like effect. The atmosphere seems almost tangible, so much so that even the photographs have a sense of wonder to them.
