Are you a seasonal cook? I like to take advantage of the early spring finds at our local farmer’s market. Right now, asparagus and leeks, as well as beautiful, tender salad greens, are the first vegetables in season I’m looking at. And they’re on the menu this week!
Whether you’re cooking for a crowd or keeping things simple, this menu has something delicious every day. My grocery list is full of springtime favorites. Let’s cook.
Here’s what’s on the menu this week…
Bobby and I just got home from celebrating our anniversary with a little early vacation, and I wanted to make it a dinner that felt special at home. Steak is always a favorite here, and honestly, it’s one of the easiest meals to indulge in without too much fuss.
Tonight’s main dish is a Pan seared ribeye steak with blue cheese butterAnd if you’ve ever been nervous about cooking steak on the stovetop, this is a great place to start. A good sear creates a lot of flavor, and I think it’s even better than grilling.
I am attaching the fragment Perfectly Roasted AsparagusWhich is in season right now and tastes so fresh and simple with a rich main dish. This Upside Down Potato Onion Tart Adds a little something special and a little hearty to the plate, balancing the meal beautifully.
And since it’s a celebration, I also make dessert. Carrot cake from scratch Bobby’s favorite, and it’s the perfect sweet ending to a cozy, at-home anniversary dinner.
