With the new speaker, Bose improved on the first-generation model in two big ways: the charging port (which is now standard USB-C) and the battery life (which has doubled to 12 hours). It’s also a bit heavy and bulky, and comes with an adjustable nylon strap that you can use to attach it to a bike, bag, or anything else. There’s also a new Spotify Tap button that plays your favorite Spotify playlists on touch. The only real downside is the loss of the mic, so you can no longer use it to take phone calls.
Bluetooth multipoint connection lets you connect two devices at the same time and seamlessly switch between them. With Speaker Link, you can sync two Bose speakers to create a stereo setup.
