The kitchen is where so many of our daily rhythms happen, so it always seems to need a lot of TLC! But I like to use the new season as an opportunity for a little reset, and the kitchen is one of my favorite rooms to refresh.
It’s spring now soooo close (and the sun came out for a little extra inspiration!) I thought I’d share a few things we’ve been up to lately.

A few recent kitchen resets in our kitchen for spring
There are a few things we do almost every season, but here are five spring kitchen changes we’ve made in the past few weeks:
- cleaning the countertops to ensure a good cleaning of all surfaces
- rearranging or changing the decor so it feels fresh
- bringing in fresh plants for the season and saying goodbye to everyone we’ve killed 🙂
- we are changing out the cafeteria curtains (love a simple seasonal reset with what we have…mine are thesealso available here and my coffee curtain hardware details are here)
- touch up paint (we are currently painting a fresh coat of paint on our dining table and will often be doing touch ups on the woodwork as well.)

Little seasonal updates like these and my daily life are part of what I call home rhythms — simple repeatable practices that help the home feel fresh and welcoming again.
I’ve found that finding a steady and enjoyable rhythm for each season at home is the secret to keeping up with so much that needs to be done around the house and also in life.
The first two household chores I learned were making the bed and washing the dishes every night! So simple yet impactful.
You can get a preview of my HomeBody Rhythms here.

It took me about 10 years of struggling with our home — always feeling overwhelmed before I discovered how much easier everyday life can be with a simple sustainable rhythm!
I’ll never forget how that felt. Life changing indeed.
I’m still amazed at how rhythms help not only with productivity and getting things done, but also with our well-being.
It turns out that they help with more than clutter around the house, they help you create beauty in every season. They reduce stress and anxiety – making you feel less frantic and more in control. And it’s comforting to know that even if you get off track, you have a reliable rhythm to fall back on.

It’s taken me years to perfect the most effective and sustainable ways to care for and decorate a home—and to know how to help others, so I’m excited to share what I’ve learned with fellow HomeBodies.
We’ve just completely refreshed and reorganized our home rhythm and decorating systems The HomeBody house (our home away from home) and our website too (go check it out!) — so we’re all set for a new season of HomeBodies.
The HomeBody house is a wonderful retreat where you can go to escape the noise and find the most peaceful path and pace to create a haven for the season you are in.
You can start your journey to sanctuary right now, today in fact!
I just added a brand new video to The HomeBody house to meet you personally and offer you three simple steps to get started.

Speaking of seasonal settings and creating a home you love, I don’t think I’ve shown you mine new kitchen slide! i love this one.
One thing I love about runners is that they are small enough to store even in a smaller home, so you can have several of them to change out for the season.
Have you heard of Healthy? They are perfect for the kitchen (washable!) We have this Ruggable rug i love him too It also comes in other colors, I had a hard time choosing which one, but I thought it would be perfect for our home this spring. A nice combination of coziness and flowers!
We keep a runner in the kitchen here for much of the year for a few reasons. One is that it keeps Finnegan from sliding all over the place when his puppy goes crazy. Another is that it catches some of the drips from washing dishes and cooking, so it protects the floor!
I’ve rounded up more Ruggable rugs that I love here in this folder.
