Garmin announced today that it has partnered with fertility/birth control app Natural Cycle Share temperature data on Natural Cycles with the Garmin app. To use this feature, you’ll need a supported Garmin watch. Currently, this includes Phoenix 8, Forerunner 570 And 970, Venu 3 and 3S, Venu 4And The X1 arrived. (There is a complete list of compatible devices here.)
Those are all expensive watches—the Venu 3S is the cheapest of them, and it’ll still run you $350—so I don’t expect anyone to rush out and get a Garmin just for the Natural Cycle integration. That said, Garmin is offering a discount to NaturalCycle subscribers, though the amount of the discount has not been announced. natural cycle says It will send a discount link to new subscribers, and existing subscribers can access it through the “Buy Extra Supplies” page of the Natural Cycles app.
What is the natural cycle?
Natural Cycle is a fertility and birth control app for people who ovulate that tracks which days you are most likely to be fertile. Body temperature rises slightly with ovulation, so over the years, Natural Cycle has evolved from an app that asks you to use a thermometer to measure temperature, to one that links to temperature-tracking wearables. This Oura Ring already has a Natural Cycle partnership (There is a temperature sensor on the ring) and Natural Cycles launched its exclusive band For tracking nighttime temperatures earlier this year.
What do you think so far?
Natural Cycle subscription pricing is frustratingly difficult to find on their website (I had to fill out a long questionnaire and sit through several ads before I needed to enter my email to get a price quote) but Apple’s App Store page Natural Cycles lists in-app purchases as $28.49 monthly and $194.99 annually for the app.
