April is here, and not a moment too soon! 🙂 Spring is no longer just a distant dream, and spring fever is spreading like an epidemic! With the arrival of warmer weather and longer days, there’s plenty to celebrate this month. And as luck would have it, there are plenty of sales and deals to celebrate this month too! 🙂
Today I’ll be sharing 7 items worth stocking up on this month to take advantage of these seasonally low prices. From plant produce to pretzels, April will be full of opportunities to stock up!
7 Things to Stock Up on in April
1. Eggs
This year the sale of eggs takes place around Easter, which falls on Sunday, April 21st. You can even find prices as low as $1 for a dozen eggs! This is a great opportunity to stock up on eggs for Easter recipes and egg dyeing, but also a great opportunity to stock your freezer with eggs at a very low cost. 2. Ham
Another food you will find on sale around Easter is ham. Prices often drop as low as $1.50 per pound during this time! Stock up on hams for your Easter feast and keep a few in the freezer to eat later.
3. Easter gifts and candy
Baskets full of candy and small gifts are an Easter tradition, so you’re sure to find them on sale weeks before the Easter holiday. But many “Easter-themed” gifts are just brightly colored, so why not stock up on them and give them as gifts throughout the year? (Check out the link below for some visual examples.)
And you can always get discounts on these items directly on the day then Easter, so it pays to wait until the clearance sale stocks up!
4. Soft pretzels
April 26th is National Soft Pretzel Day! Look for sales and discounts on pre-baked and frozen soft pretzels at grocery stores and any local bakeries that make soft pretzels. (Companies often share details about fun “holiday” promotions like this on their social media accounts, so follow them now if you want to stay in the loop!)
5. Eco-friendly products
This year, Earth Day falls on Wednesday, April 22nd and this year’s theme is “Planet vs Plastic”. That means discounts on eco-friendly products like organic snacks, reusable shopping bags, reusable water bottles, efficient LED lighting and more. Take advantage of this unique sale by stocking up on your favorite eco-friendly (non-plastic) products!
6. Plants
Spring is in the air, which means it will soon be time for spring planting! Both big box stores and local nurseries will offer good prices on seeds, bulbs, flowers, houseplants and gardening tools. Both Home Depot and Lowe’s offer price-matching for competitor’s sale prices, so you can get the best deal possible and stock up for less.
7. Seasonal production
Stock up on spring produce at low prices this month! Artichokes, asparagus, avocados, beets, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, grapefruit, mushrooms, onions, peas, rhubarb, and strawberries are in season in April, so keep your eyes peeled for those great sale prices!
