I’ve been in full little by little mode for the past few weeks, slowly organizing every single drawer and cabinet in ours laundry roomand let me tell you… this room works A LOT for our family.
When we planned this space last year, I had one big goal:
Make every square inch count.
It’s come a long way from where it started…
This room is not just for laundry. It’s our cleaning center, pantry, storage area, pet area and home tool stash all rolled into one. So the layout had to WORK.
We have built in:
- 5 cupboards
- 5 drawers
- Concealed cleaning cabinet
- Large download bin
- Wall storage
- Multifunctional table
And then I went completely bananas with mine quite a lot label maker.
Today I’m giving you a full tour of how each individual space functions.

The tour of the office
Cabinet 1 – Laundry management
This cabinet holds everything we use daily for laundry.
Inside:
Locker 2 – Pool, Summer and Storage
This cupboard became our seasonal utility area.
Inside:
This cabinet keeps all those grab-and-go items in one easy place.
This contains the things that we don’t need on a daily basis, but definitely don’t want to lose.
Each category lives in labeled acrylic bins:
- Power cords (these power cable bundles are great)
- Chargers
- Party supplies
- Candles
- Air fresheners
No more rummaging through junk drawers to find a super specific charger for an electronic device that’s on its last legs.
Cabinet 4 – The Hidden Basket
Our large lower corner cabinet holds one a large basket which acts as a laundry overflow.
simple. Functional. Accessible. Invisible.
Cabinet 5 – Cleaning Station
This is where the weightlifters live.
Inside:
- Vacuum cleaner
- Steam mop
- Cordless stick vacuum
- Acrylic bins for cleaning towels and scrubbers
- Storage shelf for:
- Small handheld steam cleaner
- Upholstery cleaner
- Iron
Everything about deep cleaning is in one place, ready when we need it.
The hidden sliding cleaning cabinet
The hidden cleaning cabinet it might be my favorite feature in the whole room.
Tucked into a small gap between the wall and the cabinet is a slim pull-out cabinet that stores:
On hooks
- Mop
- broom
- Vacuum cleaner
- Raquel
- Trash can and hand broom
In vertical slots
- Universal cleaners
- Bathroom cleaning products
- Floor cleaning preparations
- Cleaning ingredients like vinegar and baking soda
No more bulky cleaning tools leaning against the walls. Everything has a home.
A tour of drawer organization
Large Pull Out Drawer – Junk Storage
Concealed pull guard trash can tucked away but easy to access.

Every drawer has a job, no “junk drawer” allowed. (And let’s hope it stays that way.) I just dropped one of these utensil trays in every drawer and they got the job done.

Lola has now learned where the treat drawer is, so it’s officially her favorite place in the house. These blue and white chinos pet food bowls are really the cutest.
Wall storage that works hard
To keep the room flexible and functional, we added:
Both fold up when not in use so nothing feels messy. We plan to add this wall folding rack to have somewhere to hang ironed clothes, but will it be a room makeover without another small project to do?
Countertop setup
We added a movable table above the washer and dryer so we can still access the water connections behind them…function first, always.
On the counter:
- Apothecary jars for:
- Washing powder
- Beads to enhance the aroma
- Wool dryer balls
- And a small jar for change
One of my favorite little functional details in this room almost didn’t happen. but I’m so glad it did.
After installing the lower cabinets, we noticed a thin gap between the wall and the edge of the cabinet that was wide enough to slide into wooden folding stool. Instead of trying to cover the gap, we turned it into a storage feature.
Now the stool lives hidden out of sight, but whenever I need to reach the upper shelves of the upper cabinets, I can just pull it out in seconds.
Sometimes the best storage solutions come from work with the quirks of the space instead of fighting them, and this tiny spot became one of the most useful little improvements in the entire room.

The secret to not looking messy
With so much storage, things could easily look busy, so I hid it.
It keeps the room soft, calm and purposeful, not like a blast closet.

- Visual clutter is hidden
This one organized room makes the whole house run smoother.
