A lesson for a shamrock man
Similar to ours Valentine hugsthis shamrock man is easy to make using construction paper! This makes a great group project for a classroom or kindergarten as well.


Craft Supplies You’ll Need:


Useful information about the project:
- Age Level: 4 and up – younger children may need assistance
- Clutter Factor: low. Scraps of stencil cutting and glitter glue are less messy than real glitter
- Difficulty level: easy
- Completion Time: 15-20 minutes
- Cost estimate: Less than $0.50 at Shamrock Man, except for the glitter glue
Crafting Tips:
- For a group setting, it may be easier to make several copies of the template to hand out to each table of children.
- For a little shine, use a bottle of green glitter glue to draw a glittering border around the hands, feet and head of the Shamrock Man.
- If the construction paper doesn’t fit your printer well, print the shamrock pattern.
- You can attach a magnet on the back of the big shamrock to hang on the fridge!
- You may want to cut the stem from the largest shamrock we have. This will limit any inappropriate giggling from the kids!
How to make a shamrock
- Print one large and four small shamrocks on green construction paper. You can also print on white paper and use as a template.
- Cut out the shamrocks. Cut the stem off the largest clover.
- Cut white construction paper into 4 strips, about 1.5 inches wide. Cut 2 inches off two of the strips (the arms).
- Fold the strips in an accordion style back and forth.


- For the hands, glue a white accordion strip to the back of the left side of the shamrock. Repeat for the right side.
- For the legs, glue a white accordion strip to the back lower left side of the shamrock. Repeat for the right side.


- Glue the two small clovers to the ends of the arms and the two small clovers to the ends of the legs.


- Glue the two googly eyes to the large clover and use the black marker to add a smile.


- If you want some glitter, apply green glitter glue around the border of the head, legs and arms. Allow the glitter glue to dry completely.
